Body In Space Psychotherapy

Body psychotherapy is a mind-body therapeutic approach that harnesses the relationship between the body and the mind. The body is spacious. It is home for more than our biology, it carries our self-expressions, memories, emotions and life experiences.

Unresolved feelings and traumatic experiences are stored in our bodies, showing up in various ways. Muscular tension and body weakness are common manifestations of emotional wounding that can impact our mood, breathing and posture. These patterns can restrict our spaciousness and the natural flow of energy, influencing how we breathe, move, feel, relate and react to others - and how we experience our place in the world.

Body psychotherapy sessions are body-centric. Sessions are supported by talk therapy, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, and emotional expression. These methods are designed to deepen the connection between your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations.

This therapeutic approach is relational, and suited to people who are open to using movement to support their healing and growth. The aim is to uncover repeating patterns, regulate the nervous system, support alignment, increase emotional capacity, and help you integrate meaningful and lasting change so you can live a fuller, more embodied life.

Body Psychotherapy supports individuals with:
